Interviews are stressful. To stay organized and successfully articulate your answers, we recommend using the “STAR” format:
- Situation: What was the situation? Give as many contextual details as you can
- Task: What did you have to do?
- Action: How did you do it? What strategies did you utilize?
- Result: What was the outcome? Quantify the results whenever possible
To get ready for your interview, review these frequently asked questions. Prepare your answers using the STAR format:
- Tell me about yourself.
- What do you know about this company?
- Why are you a good fit for this role?
- Why are you looking (or why did you leave your last job)?
- If your previous co-workers were here, what would they say about you?
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
- What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses?
- What motivates you to do a good job?
- Describe a situation in which you were able to use persuasion to successfully convince someone to see things your way.
- Tell me about a time when you missed an obvious solution to a problem.

- Tell me about a time when you set a goal and were able to achieve it.
- Describe a time when you had to go above and beyond the call of duty in order to get a job done.

- Tell me about a time you were able to successfully deal with another person even when that individual may not have personally liked you (or vice versa).
- Give an example of a time when you tried to accomplish a task and failed.
- Describe a recent situation in which you had to deal with a very upset customer or co-worker.
